Braithwaite: an Introduction
Braithwaite, near Keswick, is situated in a perfect location in the Lake District National Park. Nestling at the foot of Grizedale Pike, looking past Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite Lake to Skiddaw, Braithwaite offers opportunities for doorstep adventures – or simply sitting and taking in the views – which are almost endless.
Braithwaite is on the B5292, just off the A66. Keswick lies 2 miles to the east, a few minutes by car, or, on foot, an interesting walk along quiet backroads and footpaths, whilst to the west are the Whinlatter Pass and the Whinlatter Forest Park with its Visitor Centre and forest walks.
